Dear Father, help me to be quiet long
enough and with enough openness
to hear You in my heart. Amen

A Point to Ponder...
Family units are like banks. If you take
out more than you put in they go broke .

All things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.  (Romans 8:28)

A miller and his family lost all their worldly possessions when a great flood washed away their home and mill. Discouraged and brokenhearted, the miller surveyed the devastation. While doing so, he noticed something glittering in the sun on a nearby bank which had been washed-out by the flood. Upon closer examination, he discovered it was gold. The very floods that had stripped him of his home and business had served to bring him a greater blessing than he had had before.
Just as the flood stripped the miller and his family of their earthly possessions enabling them to discover a greater treasure, God sometimes allows “calamity” to strip us of our earthly treasures so that He might bestow a blessing upon us far greater than our losses.
